First Announcement Asian VCSEL-Day 2021

Surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) have emerged as decisive devices for a multitude of high-volume systems. Datacom interconnects, 5G-Front-haul, 3D-sensing/Imaging, Silicon Photonics, Illumination, Automotive (LiDARs), Industrial Welding and Cutting, and Medical present some of the rapidly growing fields of applications. Each application needs its “own” dedicated and specially adapted device. Advanced semiautomatic and automatic processing and characterization technologies help to adapt the devices to new market demands for human needs.

The European VCSEL community meets in a quite informal frame since about 15 years at always changing places to present their latest results and exchange ideas how to meet future challenges. 20 min talks are given by the attendants and a small brochure with 1 page abstracts is distributed. An increasing number of leading scientists and engineers from academia and industry have enjoyed these meetings.

“Bimberg Chinese-German Center for Green Photonics“ of the Chinese Academy of Sciences at CIOMP in Changchun will organize the first of a similar event in Asia from June 3rd and 4th 2021. The event, is supported by IEEE, the Key State Laboratory on Luminescence at CIOMP, Journal Light: Science & Applications. For the weekend 5th and 6th an excursion will be offered. The climate here at that time of the year is generally very mild.Please submit your abstract & CV until March 1st 2021.
