Advances in VCSEL Technology: Highlights from Huawei’s 2025 Hardware Technologies Summit

The Huawei Hardware Technologies for Smart Devices and Communication event took place on 18–19 November 2025 in Munich, Germany, bringing together leading researchers and industry experts in photonics and semiconductor hardware. One of the key highlights was a talk by Prof. Dieter Bimberg, who presented recent advancements in VCSEL technology, covering device physics, performance scaling, and emerging applications in high‑speed optical communication.
