Activities:

The Bimberg Chinese-German Center for Green Photonics is focusing on application oriented research on photonic devices and systems, driven by actual demands of industry, demanding interdisciplinary know-how and approaches. Systematic filing of patents safeguards the intellectual property created. The development of devices leads up to a level enabling mass production, thus making substantial knowledge transfer to industry possible. 

The publication of new results in international peer-reviewed journals is one of several important channels we are using to transfer our findings to public and industry. Presentations at international conferences and chairing part of them are further short- and medium-term transfer instruments. Teaching students is the most important long-term instrument for transferring know-how.

The Bimberg Center is acting also as an incubator, opening its advanced device processing and testing facilities to third parties on a non-competitive basis against real cost refund.
